Since Kate Middleton, 42, underwent her planned abdominal surgery back in January, her husband, Prince William, has been holding down the fort when it comes to making appearances at public engagements. And now, we can add accepting gifts from well-wishers on his wife’s behalf to the list.

On his first engagement as the newly appointed Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps (a new military title given to the prince by his dad, King Charles), the Prince of Wales visited the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop on Monday, May 13.

One video featured in a post shared by Daily Mail’s royal editor Rebecca English on X (formerly Twitter) shows the future king accepting presents from the soldiers at the facility. According to the post, Prince William “received an AAC tartan wrap for the Princess of Wales, a scarf for himself and three wooden helicopters for their children.”

Earlier that day, Prince William, 41, attended a joint meeting with his father at the center, where the monarch officially handed over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps (a position the king held for 32 years). Though Princess Catherine was not present at the ceremony, it’s evident that she still remains in everyone’s thoughts.

Back in March, Princess Catherine revealed her cancer diagnosis in a heartbreaking video that was posted on the joint Instagram account she shares with her husband.

While facing the camera, she says, “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful, however, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”

I’m sure your wife and the kids will love the gifts, Prince William.
