Solange calls off Coachella performance due to 'major production delays'

Solange will no longer be performing at the upcoming Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

The festival released a statement via social media on Sunday night, explaining that the late cancellation is “due to major production delays,” adding that the singer “sends her sincerest apologies, and looks forward to performing at Coachella in the future.” A rep for Solange did not immediately return EW’s request for comment.

Solange was scheduled to perform on both Saturdays (April 13 and April 20) of the festival, along with performers like Tame Impala, Kid Cudi, Weezer, and BASSNECTAR. Coachella announced its 2019 lineup on Jan. 3, which includes headliners Childish Gambino and Ariana Grande. The schedule also features Janelle Monáe, Weezer, J Balvin, YG, CHVRCHES, Blood Orange, Pusha T, Playboi Carti, Wiz Khalifa, Kacey Musgraves, and Jaden Smith.

In March, Solange dropped a new album titled, When I Get Home, her first record since 2016’s A Seat at the Table. The album features the likes of Gucci Mane, Pharrell, Sampha, Panda Bear, Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler the Creator, Playboi Carti, Dev Hynes, Cassie, and more.
