Sofia Vergara blown away by 10-year-old ’AGT’ contestant’s voice

10-year-old Roberta Battaglia always dreamed of performing on America’s Got Talent, and on Tuesday her dream came true. The little singer from Toronto, Canada blew the judges aways and earned a spot in the live show round. Roberta claims she got her voice from her father, who is an engineer for a local radio station. He must have some powerful genes because Roberta has quite the powerful voice, which she showed off by performing the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper hit “Shallow.” Roberta received a standing ovation from the audience and the judges. Modern Family star Sofia Vergara told Roberta, “It was breathtaking.” The actress awarded the singer with the golden buzzer, which advances her directly to the live show rounds.

ROBERTA BATTAGLIA: (SINGING) I'm off the deep end. Watch as I dive in. I'll never meet the ground. Crash through the surface where they can't hurt us. We're far from the shallow now.

- Viewers were taken aback by the 10 year old's powerful voice, with one fan tweeting, Roberta's performance literally made me emotional. She's an insanely talented 10-year-old. Wow." But this singer revealed not everyone is a fan of hers.

ROBERTA BATTAGLIA: Sometimes I do get bullied.

SIMON COWELL: Do you?

ROBERTA BATTAGLIA: Yeah.

HOWIE MANDEL: Oh.

SIMON COWELL: OK, well, you know, we hear this unfortunately a lot. But there's one way you win over bullies. It's by being happy and successful, you know that.

- Fortunately for Roberta, Modern Family star Sofia Vergara was in charge of the golden buzzer and was also a big fan.

SOFIA VERGARA: It was breathtaking. You're 10 years old. That's impossible to sing like that at 10 years old. And you know what, let's see who is going to bully you after this.
