Some actors and models including Sofia Richie came under heat recently on social media as fans called them 'sellouts.' This is because the stars decided to promote a music festival in Saudi Arabia. Some of these prominent actors and models include; Armie Hammer, Wilmer Valderrama, Ryan Phillippe, Sofia Richie, and Joan Smalls to say a few. According to a source, these stars received big amounts of money to be present a music festival by MDL Beast abroad. Thus caught the attention of fans on social media and a rampage ensued.
The stars had no idea that people will take offense with what they had done, so they posted amazing photos and videos from the event in Saudi Arabia. Some fans were quick to lament that the stars were acting oblivious to the fact that Saudi Arabia had commenced a violation of Human Rights. The stars had definitely not seen that part coming. One of the posts that turned social media into a battle ground was shared by Ryan Phillippe. The 45-year-old actor, post a photo of himself sporting a white and red headdress and captioned the post with 'uproar.'
A followers quickly commented saying that the government of Saudi Arabia kills journalists and people who identify as gay. Other followers aired out their hearts to the actor, but this did little or nothing to stop him from posting his pictures. The "Cruel Intentions" actor posted several pictures from his trip to Saudi Arabia, and was not apologetic about it. He also mentioned that it was a magical day for him where he got to meet with several wonderful people.
Ryan Phillippe was not the only star that fans came at on Monday night, as Sofia Richie was criticized too in many ways. The 21-year-old got the attention of her followers when she posted a mirror selfie with two other ladies and her caption was 'Saudi girls.' Her fans did not spare her in any way, as they hit her with several negative comments in the spur of the moment. According to Breitbart, the model could not handle any more of the backlashes and decided to commence damage control by taking down the post to change the caption
There is no telling when fans will finally put this story behind them, but majority of the stars' followers were pissed off on Monday night. No one knows if the stars were truly paid a sum up to eight figures to attend the music festival, or they went there by themselves. Either way, this act did not sit well with fans. Since Monday night saga on social media, none of the stars have come out to formally address the issue or give more details.
