Sofía Vergara’s New Deal-Breaker for Dating Has Everything to Do With Ex Joe Manganiello

When Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello announced their split last July, we were all shocked. But, as details of their marriage bubbled to the surface, including their different opinions on having kids together, we began to understand why they went their separate ways.
Looking back now, it seems the Modern Family star is sticking to her decision, and using the experience as a good pointer to find her next relationship. In an interview for People‘s Beautiful Issue, Vergara, who is currently dating orthopedic surgeon Dr. Justin Salisman, revealed the main things she’s looking for in a partner. “Health. Money. Fun. With kids. That’s it,” she said. “That’s all I want.”

As for what she doesn’t want, Vergara kept it simple. “No more kids,” she said.
Besides that major deal-breaker, it seems Vergara kept an open mind when jumping back into the dating pool. “It’s already hard for a fifty-something-year-old woman to find someone,” she said. “I’m not going to be now picky about, ‘Oh, he can only be a doctor. Oh, he can only be an astronaut.’ No, I mean, I’m not that picky.”
With that said, Vergara admitted dating in the public eye has its own set of challenges. “Everything gets so exaggerated,” she told the outlet. “Everything sometimes gets not interpreted the right way. So life is already hard. Having relationships is hard. Problems are hard. And then to see it out there and be completely changed, you want to be like, ‘What is going on?'”
“But you just get used to it,” she added. “It comes with being famous, so you can’t complain that much.”
In previous interviews, Vergara had been surprisingly candid about why she and the Magic Mike star didn’t work out. “Well, I’m newly divorced from my second husband, who I was with for 10 years. My marriage broke up because my husband was younger,” Vergara told Spanish newspaper El País in January. “He wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom.” As a reminder, Vergara is already a mom to son Manolo, 32, from her former marriage to Joe Gonzalez.
And while Vergara feels at peace with their split and pursuing a relationship with clear deal-breakers, reports show Manganiello already has major baby brain in his relationship with girlfriend Caitlin O’Connor. “They’re going to get engaged soon [and then] start trying for kids,” an insider told Us Weekly. “Marriage is definitely in their future.”
Looks like Vergara and Manganiello weren’t ever meant to be.
