Soccer Mommy fans, get ready to buy the new Sims expansion pack, because Sophie Allison now has a song in Simlish. Check out “Shotgun (Simlish Version)” below.

In “Shotgun (Simlish Version),” Soccer Mommy is no longer a bullet in a shotgun, but a bullet (or something) in a “shootbleng.” Fortunately, despite the gibberish, the Sometimes, Forever single maintains its infectious melody when transferred to a video game soundtrack. The song comes with a music video by Veronica Kocy which depicts Allison as a Sim; in the clip, she plays her trademark purple guitar, makes pasta, and moodily gazes out the window — all things you’d expect a Sim (and Allison) to do.

“Can’t believe u can hear shootbleng (aka shotgun) in sims now,” she wrote in a statement. “My life has truly come full circle.” The song features in the new Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack, which is available for purchase now.

This is hardly the first time The Sims have asked for translations of exciting indie rock. Last year we heard Japanese Breakfast’s Simlish version of “Be Sweet,” plus Simlish cuts by Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, and in 2019 Snail Mail babbled through “Pristine.”

Once you’ve taken in the video for “Shotgun (Simlish Version),” watch Soccer Mommy perform the real thing on Fallon. Allison appeared on the Kyle Meredith With… podcast to discuss the artists and films that influenced Sometimes, Forever, and then Consequence went deep with her on the process of working with electronic producer Daniel Lopatin (aka Oneohtrixpointnever). She’s taking the record on the road for a tour that extends through the end of the year, and tickets to all of her shows are on sale now via Ticketmaster.
