What are the latest casting moves at all four daytime dramas: The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless?

Soap Opera Casting For Week of May 13

Find out if any of your favorite actors and actresses from yesteryear are returning to the shows you watch, if any newcomers have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles, or if any performers are set to make their exit.

General Hospital

Very happy casting news on the General Hospital front. John J. York, who had been off on medical leave battling blood and bone marrow disorders, is finally back on set filming scenes as Mac Scorpio. The soap posted the news on its official Twitter and Instagram accounts along with pictures of York, sporting a “Mac Is Back” T-shirt, with Kristina Wagner, who plays his wife, Felicia, and Josh Kelly, who portrays his son, Cody. York made his last appearance the week of October 30, 2023.

Another Cerullo is hitting the Port Charles canvas. Giovanni Mazza has been cast as Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) cousin, Giovanni Cerullo. He debuts this week to attend Brooklyn and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) wedding.

Also on hand for the nuptials will be Ellen Travolta and George Russo as Gloria and Carmine Cerullo, Lois’ (Rena Sofer) parents, and Brook Lynn’s grandparents. The pair begin airing on Wednesday, May 15.

Asher Antonyzyn is back as Danny Morgan on Tuesday, May 14. Look for the teen to interact with his TV dad, Steve Burton’s Jason

Meanwhile, Nicholas Alexander Chavez gave fans a glimmer of hope regarding the status of his “dead” character, Spencer Cassadine, via a recent Twitter post. The actor shared that “Frank Valentini (GH’s executive producer) is a mentor and a friend, and we’ve had some pretty extensive conversations about my future on the show. While there are no current plans for me to return, we are still talking very openly about future possibilities for Spencer in Port Charles.”

Days of our Lives

After months of waiting and hoping, Days of our Lives fans will finally get to see a real live baby portray Jude. Oliver McLarty has been cast as the biological son of Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Eric (Greg Vaughan), who’s presently being raised by Eric and Sloan (Jessica Serfaty). However, he won’t be airing for a while.

Steve Burton left town as Harris Michaels last week, but it’s not the end of his run on Days. The character will be returning to Salem.

Erin Wu is back as Alana on Monday, May 13. Once again, she’ll share flirty scenes with Blake Berris’ Everett/Bobby.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Over at The Bold and the Beautiful Jennifer Gareis is back on the scene as Donna Logan Forrester this week. She’ll interact with Katherine Kelly Lang’s Brooke, Thorsten Kaye’s Ridge and John McCook’s Eric.

Romy Park clocks back in as Poppy Nozawa. She’ll share scenes with her TV daughter, Lisa Yamada’s Luna.

The Young and the Restless

Christopher Cousins continues his run and resurfaces as Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) psychiatrist pal, Alan Laurent, on The Young and the Restless. He’ll share powerful scenes with Beth Maitland’s Traci this week.

Jess Walton pops in as Jill Abbott on Tuesday, May 14. Look for her character to deliver shocking news to Christel Khalil’s Lily.  Colleen Zenk is back as the imprisoned Jordan Howard on Friday, May 17. She’ll interact with Eric Braeden’s Victor, whose revenge plot against her takes a dangerous turn.
