Snow Patrol Cancel Tour Due to Guitarist’s “Serious” Neck Injury

The band call off multiple dates, including Glastonbury, as Johnny McDaid recovers from surgery

Snow Patrol have canceled a series of summer tour dates including their set at this year’s Glastonbury. The band revealed in the below Facebook post that Johnny McDaid is facing a “serious problem” with his neck that required immediate surgery. The band have scrapped all dates leading up to July 20.

Another member of the band is also out with an injury—Nathan Connolly is recovering from nerve damage and is currently unable to play guitar. “We feel it’s just not appropriate to continue with shows at this stage,” the band wrote in a statement. “It isn’t just their guitars and pianos that would be missed. Their backing vocals are essential to our sound and their energy and spirits are colossal and are irreplaceable forces.”

Snow Patrol’s last album was 2018’s Wildness.
