Snoop Dogg may normally be a pretty happy guy but he had to fight back tears as a mega-mentor on “The Voice,” Monday. He wasn’t alone as the audience shared in his emotions during Pia Renee’s performance. Coach Kelly Clarkson also joined him for a case of the feels during Corey Ward’s rehearsal. Ward performed Clarkson’s song “Already Gone.”

“He just put a chill on my arm,” said Snoop Dogg. “Look here, Kelly, I don't get chills from men, man.”

Even though Clarkson released the song nearly 12 years ago, hearing it performed by someone else stirred up all kinds of feelings and made her cry.

“How dare you come out here and kill my song!” Clarkson told Ward.”It's interesting when you write something you don't feel it till years later.”

Snoop Dogg thought Clarkson’s emotions were a testament to Ward’s performance. “When you can get the songwriter to lose emotional control, that's when you're doing your job, brother,” Snoop Dogg said. “He made the songwriter cry. That's enough said right there.”

While the performances made Snoop Dogg emotional, he was able to keep his tears in check. He told Ward, “One thing about my emotions, I held my tear right here and pushed it back up.”
