Snoop Dogg will be representing his country this summer in a unique way. The rapper will be heading to Paris, France, to cover the 2024 Summer Olympics for NBC and Peacock.

On Monday (Dec. 1), the Hip-Hop legend shared the news with his followers on social media, sharing a video of himself dancing in front of a CGI-generated background resembling France’s famed Eiffel Tower. “New year mood,” the 52-year-old hitmaker wrote on Instagram. “Paris 2024 Olympics. C u this summer.”

Snoop’s announcement would later be confirmed by the official Olympics Instagram account via the post’s comment section. “Snoop Dogg at Paris 2024? It’s legit, you know it’s a hit,” the account wrote in reaction.

The 2024 Summer Olympics are scheduled to take place from July 26 to Aug. 11 2024 in France, with Paris as the main host city. The games will take place across 16 other cities spread across the region, as well as an additional subsite in Tahiti

According to USA Today, Tha Doggfather will “explore iconic Parisian landmarks, attend Olympic competitions, and get a chance to talk with all the Olympics athletes.”

It will not be the first time that Snoop has given his insight regarding the global sporting event. In 2021, he and Kevin Hart teamed up with Peacock for a show called Olympic Highlights, in which the pair provided commentary while watching key moments from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

In anticipation of his turn as a reporter for the Olympics, Snoop sat down with various athletes set to compete in the 2024 games, including gymnast Suni Lee, Kelly Cheng, and Sarah Hughes of Beach Volleyball.

The segment, which aired on TODAY with Carson Daly, saw the Death Row Records owner quizzing Lee about a move she pulled off during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, as well as accepting an invitation to celebrate with Cheng, Hughes and the rest of the U.S. beach volleyball team if they win they gold.
