Snoop Dogg’s brother, Bing Worthington, has passed away, with the rap legend and a number of his musical peers taking to social media to mourn the loss of his sibling.

On Tuesday (Feb. 20), Snoop shared a pic of himself and Worthington on Instagram, which was taken at the funeral of their late mother, Beverly Tate, who passed away in 2021.

In the caption of the photo, which finds both brothers wearing crimson red outfits, Snoop pays tribute to Worthington, reminiscing about his laugh and his ability to light up a room.

“Everlastin love Beverly’s boys,” the 52-year-old wrote. “Dirty left bing and snoopy.” He continued, adding that he would miss the way Worthington “made us smile” before asking that his late sibling “keep mama company till we get there.”

According to NBC, Worthington passed away on Thursday (Feb. 15) in Orange County, Calif. A cause of death has yet to be determined, as officials await the results of a pending autopsy and toxicology report.

The following day (Feb. 16), Snoop took to social media to share the tragic news with his fans, posting a series of photos of himself and Worthington with various friends and family members. Other celebrities, including Krayzie Bone and Damar Hamlin acknowledged Worthington’s passing on his own social media account.

Prior to his death, in addition to working closely with Snoop, Worthington launched his own record company, Dogg Records, and also released music as a member of the rap group Lifestyle. In 2016, Worthington spoke with Vice about his role in Snoop’s career, making it clear that he had paid his dues behind the scenes and his position was not a byproduct of nepotism.

“I started from the bottom, I ain’t just become the tour manager, I was just the road guy,” he said at the time. “I worked my way to the top.”

Worthington continued, adding “Even though I’m [Snoop’s] brother he didn’t give me a top-ranked position. You can’t just become a president without knowing anything about being the president. You have to learn.”

VIBE sends our condolences to the family and friends of Bing Worthington.
