Snoop Dogg has made an announcement that has fans both shocked and confused. On Thursday (Nov. 16), the Hip-Hop mainstay uploaded a black and white photo to Instagram that read, “After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time.”

As expected, many people reacted with doubt and skepticism because Snoop’s affinity for smoking weed is well-documented. One of the top comments referenced April Fool’s Day, writing, “This isn’t even the first of April yet are you high right now?” Another joked, “Wym? Can we have a press conference.”

However, a lot of commenters expressed their support, and some even decided to join the California legend’s decision. Conor McGregor chimed in, “Best of luck Snoop! We are with you all the way!,” while another person wrote, “On this note, I quit too.”

One user pointed out how Snoop may not even be referencing marijuana at all, but rather drama instead, writing, “He didn’t say smoking he said smoke lol.”

In other news, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rhymer and his son, Cordell Broadus, have launched their newest business venture, Death Row Games. The startup was created in support of minority creatives within the Fortnite ecosystem to help them design, develop, and publish content.

“Our vision for Death Row Games is to provide access and opportunity to diverse creators to empower them as well as broaden the narrative around what gaming can become,” Broadus said in a statement. “We are still in the early stages but my team and I are excited to start building in the UEFN ecosystem where we believe the next generation of audiences are.”
