Snoop Dogg has admitted that he fainted the first time he met Pam Grier.

The West Coast artist sat down with The Jennifer Hudson Show on Friday (Jan. 26) to discuss the first time he met her after seeing a picture of himself and Grier from the 2001 movie Bones. He explained that Grier’s aura sent his emotions into overdrive.

“We was doing a movie, Bones, right? And this is young Snoop. I’m young at the time, right?” he told the crowd. “They tell me I got the role with Pam Grier. So, I’m like, ‘Oh alright, I got Pam Grier!…I Catch the flight from Frisco to Vancouver. So, when I get to Frisco I’m sitting down and Pam Grier walk up and just sit right next to me and started talking to me.”

“My heart was beating fast, Jen,” Snoop recalled. “Jen, my heart was beating fast [like] da, dum, da, dum, da, dum. So, I’m like, ‘I hear what you’re saying, Pam. Give me a minute.’ I go to the bathroom and faint…I fainted. I’m laying on the ground. My security come in they like ‘Get off this nasty floor, man. What is you doing?’ I’m like, I looked up I said: ‘Cuz, I just met Pam Grier.”

As the Death Row Records boss continued, he explained what the iconic actress taught him. Snoop expressed that she took him under his wing. However, he couldn’t get himself to make eye contact with her during those first moments.

“She broke me down. She gave me all the information that I needed as far as to, like, lose that. She gave me information on how to be a better actor, a better person, and how to receive people like this who you are infatuated with,” he added. “So, I thanked her for that, and I believe I became a better actor after that. So, Pam, I love you for that. And I appreciate you.”

Bones released in theaters in 2001. The Ernest Dickerson-directed movie followed Jimmy Bones (Snoop Dogg), a man who provides for his community. One day, he is betrayed by his people and murdered. Two decades after his death, he comes back to life seeking revenge.

Bones was seen as a flop when it released. However, the movie has since become a cult classic, with fans praising its homage to the blaxploitation film genre.
