SNL Scraps John Krasinski-Hosted March 28 Show as Studio 8H Goes Dark Indefinitely Due to Coronavirus
“Live from New York it’s… ” not Saturday Night Live.
TVLine has learned that SNL is shutting down production until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic. NBC’s late-night institution was set to return on March 28 with host John Krasinski, whose film Quiet Place 2 was bumped until later this year as a result of COVID-19. That episode has now been scrapped.

An SNL insider calls the shutdown “a precautionary measure” to ensure the safety of its cast and crew, adding, “We will monitor the situation closely and make decisions about future shows on an ongoing basis as further information develops.”
SNL is 16 episodes into its 21-episode 45th season.
The last time SNL saw one of its seasons interrupted was back in 2007, when the writers’ strike shortened Season 33 to just 12 episodes.
