‘Snatch’ First Look: Rupert Grint Tries His Hand at Shady Liquor Sales

They sure don’t teach this at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Six years after graduating with honors from the Harry Potter film franchise, Rupert Grint is getting in touch with his inner criminal on Snatch, Crackle’s new London-set crime series, which premieres on the streaming service on Mar. 16.

Adapted from Guy Ritchie’s popular film, Snatch casts the former Ron Weasley as Charlie Cavendish-Scott, a streetwise entrepreneur who isn’t above dabbling in a little semi-honest gangster work to give his fledgling career as a boxing manager a leg up. Charlie’s smooth-talking salesmanship is spotlighted in this exclusive clip, where he tries to close a deal with a reluctant nightclub owner to purchase bottles of his specially distilled alcohol.

The main stumbling block to this particular sale is flavor — specifically the fact that Charlie’s home brew has a “cardamom vanilla” aftertaste that doesn’t exactly tingle the owner’s senses. Fortunately, the owner’s female partner seems more impressed with Charlie’s “bollocks” when it comes to fine liqueurs. “It’s inspired,” she says, ordering the entire lot while Charlie smiles with nervous relief. Maybe next time he should just try peddling Butterbeer; that stuff always goes over well with Muggles.

Snatch premieres Thursday, Mar. 16 on Crackle.
