Rewind to January 2019, Jussie reported that he was walking home from a Subway sandwich shop when two men approached him and attacked him on the street. He said that the motivation for the attack was racially charged and that he was gay.

The Staged Attack Against Jussie Smollett

The intense investigation concluded that the whole attack was 'staged' with the help of the Osundairo brothers. Smollett paid them to play a part in the attack. The case was dropped back in March. Jussie still maintained his innocence and authorities kept his $10,000 bail. The city is suing him for $130,000 worth of court costs and police overtime fees.

The City of Chicago filed a lawsuit against Smollett—seeking thousands of dollars in restitution for the investigation and for Jussie filing a false police report.

Jussie is asking the City of Chicago to drop the impending lawsuit against him claiming the $10,000 is enough to reimburse the city.

Smollett: Living The Nightmare

Jussie is asking the City of Chicago to drop the impending lawsuit against him claiming the $10,000 is enough to reimburse the city. The testimonies of the Osundairo brothers, key witnesses in the case, were “false, self-serving, and unreliable statements in order to close the investigation into the attack on Mr. Smollett.”

Now Jussie feels he has the right to file a 'countersuit' I feel that Jussie is guilty of perpetrating a crime against himself. I mean, why would he do such a thing just to improve his acting technique or to garner more attention in the media? Only someone with low intelligence would do that. Never a good idea!
