J Balvin brought Philadelphia to the desert with a surprise appearance from Will Smith Sunday (April 14) at Coachella. Joining the stage with the Colombian chart-topper, Smith took the audience back to 1997 with a live performance of his song, “Men In Black.”
Dressed in character, the 55-year-old appeared on stage in a sleek black suit, dark black sunglasses, and a visible earpiece, fully representing as Agent J. The two musicians performed the song together, with background dancers in alien costumes and a giant alien projected onto a digital screen.
At the end of the performance, J Balvin was removed from the stage by two women dressed as special agents.
J Balvin’s surprise guest was one of several memorable moments from the first weekend of Coachella 2024. Lil Uzi Vert’s dance moves, Kesha and Reneé Rapp’s lyric changes, and Tyler, The Creator’s candid statements all brought ticket-holders and fans tuning into the live stream something to talk about.
Week two of the annual music and arts festival is set to begin on Friday, April 19. The full lineup includes performances from Doja Cat, Ice Spice, Lana Del Rey, Blxst, Jon Batiste, Destroy Lonely, RAYE, Tyla, Tinashe, Victoria Monét, Lil Yachty, and more.
