Will Smith commits to 'best shape of my life,' Alicia Keys celebrates with fans in YouTube series

Will Smith and Alicia Keys are working on new projects for YouTube.

The platform announced the partnerships Tuesday in an online presentation to advertisers, revealing a slate of upcoming YouTube Originals series. Comedian Hasan Minhaj hosted and celebrities including CBS' "Late Late Show" host James Corden appeared. Miley Cyrus closed the presentation with a performance.

Smith, 52, just took to Instagram Sunday to share how much he's let his fitness slide, and now we know why. "I’m gonna be real wit yall - I’m in the worst shape of my life," the actor/rapper captioned the pic that showed his chest, stomach and legs. It turns out the "Bad Boys" star was just teasing his upcoming fitness-focused series, with a working title "Best Shape of My Life.”

Slated to debut in 2022, the six-episode series "is the story of Will Smith, looking up one day to find himself in middle age, rebuilding his body into the best shape of his life and getting his groove back along the way," YouTube's announcement says.

Following the show announcement, Smith shared a more revealing Instagram post, explaining how he added a few extra pounds.

"This is the body that carried me through an entire pandemic and countless days grazing thru the pantry," he wrote in the caption. "I love this body, but I wanna FEEL better. No more midnight muffins…this is it!

"Imma get in the BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!!!!!" Smith vowed. "Teaming up with @YouTube to get my health & wellness back on track. Hope it works!"

This is the second collaboration between Smith and YouTube. “Will Smith: The Jump” captured "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" bungee jumping over the Grand Canyon.

Keys' four-episode “Noted” (another working title) will be released this summer, celebrating the 20th anniversary of her "Songs in A Minor" album. Keys, 40, "invites her fans to peer into her world like never before," YouTube promises. "Informed by life defining memories and meaningful conversations with loved ones, Keys will bring the past 20 years to surface in this performative documentary."

"Songs in A Minor" featured Keys' debut single which sky-rocketed her success, "Fallin'." The song won the pianist three Grammys (song of the year, best female R&B vocal performance and best R&B song). "Songs in A Minor" took the category for best R&B album.

Tuesday, Cyrus shared with attendees her appreciation for the video platform as an artist.

“YouTube has been a big part of my expression for kind of my entire career," she said. "You can really watch the evolution of who I am. It really kind of inspired me and it stated a fire that just became wild.

"I’ve just always really loved the idea of being able to create my own worlds that I feel visually represents sonically what I’m putting out there," she continued. "I could say what I wanted to say in the way that I wanted to say it. I definitely don’t take it for granted.”

Cyrus, 28, also treated viewers to "Heart of Glass," "Midnight Sky" and "Wrecking Ball."
