Warner Bros. Lot Evacuated After Small Brush Fire Breaks Out In Hollywood Hills

The Warner Bros. lot in Burbank was evacuated as a precautionary measure Saturday, after a small brush fire broke out in the area, an individual with the studio told Deadline.

The blaze, dubbed the Barham fire, started around 1:52 p.m. in the Hollywood Hills near 3694 North Barham Blvd, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

At 5:10 p.m., the LAFD said in a statement that “forward progress” had been stopped, meaning the threat of the fire spreading was greatly reduced. By that point, the fire had burned 34 acres in the hills between Burbank and Universal City.

“Ground and air crews will continue to battle the perimeter of the still active wildfire,” said LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey. “The containment goal remains within a ‘box’ west of Forest Lawn Cemetery, east of Coyote Canyon Drive, south of Forest Lawn Drive and north of Wonder View Drive.”

At the height of the blaze, a total of 236 firefighters battled the flames from the air and on the ground.

NBC Los Angeles posted video on Twitter, showing heavy smoke rising above the hills as aircraft dropped water on the flames.

There were no reports of injuries and no homes faced an immediate threat, according to the LAFD.

“While some persons have chosen to calmly depart the area, there have been no formal evacuation orders,” Humphrey said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
