Top Secret: My brother is disabled and deaf. Has about a third grade mentality and is 55. I’ve taken care of him my entire adult life since my folks passed. He gets $112.00 a month in food assistance and $780.00 in SSI (in Seattle). If I try to pay his electricity bill, SSI lowers his amount. I get it that people don’t want to pay for others who can physically work, I’m the same, but we do have people who do not have the ability to work. No matter how hard I’ve tried to get him employment, companies just don’t want him. This administration would like to remove benefits from people like him as well. But, I guess it’s not anyone’s problem but his, that’s the new reality. We wonder why we have a homeless problem.
