Skyline Chili announces switch to Coca-Cola products, causing mixed social media reaction

Skyline Chili announced a major change.

The Cincinnati-style chili chain will soon offer Coca-Cola products at its restaurants starting in April, it announced in a press release Monday.

Skyline currently serves Pepsi products and will remove those offerings as it makes the switch. Installation will begin April 1 and should be completed at all Skyline locations in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Florida by mid-May.

The restaurant will still have Dr. Pepper, as the beverage is owned by Keurig Dr. Pepper Inc.

"Aligning with the pre-eminent soda brand in the country will be one of the many great ways we celebrate the arrival of our 75th anniversary,” said Skyline CEO Dick Williams in the release.

The news resulted in a mixed reaction on social media, with some Skyline enthusiasts praising the move and others mourning the loss of their favorite Pepsi drinks, specifically Mountain Dew which many like to pair with their coneys.

Gold Star also announced it is switching to Coca-Cola products Monday.
