Sky High Farm Workwear Says "Farm Boys Do It Better"

Sky High Farm Workwear, the Dover Street Market-backed label raising funds for the non-profit Sky High Farm, is dropping a 10-piece capsule created in collaboration with photographer Quil Lemons.

For those who are unfamiliar, Sky High Farm is an organization growing fresh and nutritious food for donation using regenerative farming methods. A part of the funding comes from its fashion label Sky High Farm Workwear, promoting a new model of fundraising. Founded by artist Dan Colen and COMME des GARÇONS and DSM's former Head of Communications and Marketing Daphne Seybold, the brand launched in January 2022 and has been dropping coveted collections with names such as Denim Tears and Balenciaga.

This time around, Lemons -- known to have photographed Billie Eilish, Telfar Clemens and Spike Lee just to name a few -- is stepping away from the camera, dropping his first-ever fashion collab. Titled "Farm Boys Do It Better," the range is comprised of fuzzy knit cardigans, zip-up hoodies, baseball caps and socks. The sweaters arrive in bold purple and lime green colors inspired by Lemons' self-portraits from his time at the International Center of Photography (ICP), with swirly patterns highlighting the sleeves.

"The inspiration for the Quil Lemons for SHFWW collection stems from my desire to keep pushing the limits of photography, and to challenge the understanding of what a photographer can be. Every photo I take expands my universe and invites you into my imagination," Lemons says of the collaboration. "And while shooting fashion and editorial content, I’ve always thought about what I would make if I was the one designing the clothes. I wanted to design a collection that felt like an extension of my wardrobe, or the physical realization of my own fashion wish list. And so, this collection is deeply inspired by my art, but it also comes out of my love of fashion as a mode of self-expression—and also the knowledge that the only limits are the ones you put on yourself."
