Skai Jackson is responding to the backlash she faced after she did a raffle asking fans for $5 for a chance to win a new MacBook.

As you can see, the former Disney Channel star faced a buuuuunch of criticism for raffling off tickets instead of doing a giveaway.

I’m saying…Skai Jackson Basically letting the fans pay for the Mac book then giving it away?lol that don’t make sense. That’s not how raffles work. You purchase the items then the paid tickets are placed into the lottery for the items. Make it make sense for me.

Wait! Skai was on TikTok live asking ppl to send $5 for a chance to win a MacBook? WTF, when somebody does a raffle, u supposed to give away free stuff. Not asking ppl for money to win the prize. She's stupid for doing that shit.

For the the people saying “there’s nothing wrong with this” paying money to enter a giveaway is wrong. This is especially the case when most of her fans are kids/teens who would gladly throw away money. You should not teach your fans gambling anyway…(what skai is doing)

However, Skai stands by that decision.

In a TikTok live, she said: "It is not that serious for a damn $5. It is called a raffle. I don't know if you guys have been to school before, but I know I've been to school, and we used to have raffles all the time."

"You might put in $5, $2, whatever, and you get a prize. Like, people do raffles all the time."

Skai also clarified that any funds received in the raffle would be put toward the cost of the MacBook. "And then, like I said, if there's anything leftover, I'm doing a second giveaway soon."

"So that's what it's going towards," she added, stressing that none of the money would go to her. "I do not need money. Me personally, I do not need money."

"And I'm not saying this in a bragging way, or anything like that, or in a mean way. I'm just letting you guys know I do not personally need money. Like, I'm very fine in my life."
