THIS BOOK, GUYS. From the synopsis (and, frankly, the silly-sounding character names) I didn’t have high expectations, and pegged this book as a fairytale-esque urban fantasy (which is a subgenre I’m picky about), but it’s SO much more than that and IT BLEW MY MIND! The idea of universal forces being personified is endlessly interesting to me, and this story seamlessly blends sci-fi and fantasy in order to masterfully execute that concept. Seanan McGuire is a freaking genius.
