After Six Years of Rumors, Katie Holmes & Jamie Foxx Make Their Official Couple Debut at the 2019 Met Gala

We never thought this day would come but it’s finally happened: Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx made their official couple debut at the 2019 Met Gala. Holmes and Foxx have been rumored to be an item since 2013 and have slowly brought their relationship into the public eye without ever confirming their relationship status. That is, until now. The couple not only looked stunning at fashion’s prom on Monday evening, but they looked so happy and comfortable together, too. We are over the moon right now!

Holmes and Foxx arrived separately to the Met Gala but reportedly met up inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art (the venue for the Met Gala), once they were away from all of the prying eyes and cameras. Holmes collaborated with her longtime friend and favorite designer, Zac Posen, to create her stunning Met Gala gown. The custom Posen dress was made of 300 yards of multi-layered hand sewn colored tulle and she completed the look with a Tyler Ellis clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. Foxx went a little more understated, opting for a black suit with a skinny tie, sequin panther pin and purple shoes. The shoes were a deft touch, low-key matching Holmes’ ensemble and serving as evidence that these two wanted to probably coordinate their outfits to confirm their couple status.

Video also surfaced on Twitter of the couple apparently taking the same car together to the event, implying that their separate red carpet arrivals were planned to either give focus to each individual as the went on the arrivals carpet and allow for a stunning entrance or that they wanted to ease into confirming their couple status at the event. Either way, the video footage of them dancing to Rihanna’s “We Found Love” with fellow celebs Nina Dobrev, Andrew Garfield, Heidi Klum’s ex Vito Schnabel and others in a party bus on the way to the Met Gala is the stuff of pure delight.

Twitter also has some big thoughts and feelings about Holmes and Foxx finally — finally! — confirming their couple status even though they didn’t issue an official statement. Fans were crying tears of joy, we were crying tears of joy; basically, it was a big moment for all of us who have loved watching this couple’s relationship grow over the years.

Even though their relationship has basically been an open secret for years, this feels like a milestone in Holmes and Foxx’s relationship. We can’t wait to see what’s next.
