Six-Year-Old Spends The Money He Saved For Disney World On Food For Hurricane Victims

Disney Plans

Jermaine Bell, a 6-year-old resident of Allendale, SC, has been saving his money to take his family on a birthday trip to Disney World, mowing lawns and doing other odd jobs to earn a little cash. However, in the wake of Hurricane Dorian, which displaced many SC residents, Bell decided to put his money to use in another way.

A Greater Need

Instead of putting the money that he saved towards a trip, Bell used his savings to purchase hot dogs, chips, and other snacks to hand out to hurricane evacuees. He told WJBF:

"The people that are traveling to other places, I wanted them to have some food to eat so they can enjoy the ride to the place that they're gonna stay at."

A Selfless Act

Bell served more than 100 people on Labor Day, and has since helped "a lot" more. His grandmother, Aretha Grant, was especially proud of her grandson praying with anyone who wanted it as well.

"I am very proud. We knew Jermaine was very special, but we didn't know he was special in this way to be such a giver like this."

As for Animal Kingdom, Bell knows that he can go another time.

"I just wanted to be generous."
