On March 5, Garrison was found dead in his home in Flagstaff, Arizona at age 25

Sister Wives star Garrison Brown's cause of death has been confirmed.

In an autopsy report obtained by PEOPLE on May 15, the Coconino County Medical Examiner confirmed that the 25-year-old died from gunshot wound to the head. His manner of death was ruled a suicide.

The report notes a contributing factor in his death was ethanol intoxication, otherwise known as alcohol poisoning. Per the autopsy, Garrison's blood alcohol level was .307% based on his iliac blood analysis and .370% based on his vitreous analysis. (The legal limit in the U.S. is .08% and anything above .40% is considered potentially fatal.)

Garrison also had traces of caffeine in his system at the time of his death.

Garrison, who was the son of Janelle and Kody Brown, was found dead in his home in Flagstaff, Arizona on March 5.

At the time, the Flagstaff Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE they responded to a report of a "death inside a home" and confirmed that his brother Gabriel, 22, had "discovered Mr. Brown deceased" in an apparent suicide.

Lieutenant Charles M. Hernandez II of the Flagstaff Police Department continued in a statement shared with PEOPLE, "At this time there is not any indication of foul play, and Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating."

Shortly after the news, Janelle confirmed her son's death in a statement shared to Instagram.

"Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown," she captioned a series of images of her son. "He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory." (Kody also posted the same statement on his own Instagram page.)

After Janelle spiritually married Kody in 1993, the couple went on to have six children: Madison, Logan, Garrison, Gabriel, Hunter and Savanah. In December 2022, Janelle announced that she and Kody had separated.

She was the second Brown family matriarch to leave after Christine announced she had left Kody. Shortly after Janelle's announcement, Meri revealed that she and Kody had also parted ways, leaving Robyn as the Brown patriarch's sole remaining wife.
