‘Sister, Sister’ Star Tamera Mowry-Housley’s Niece Dies in Thousand Oaks Shooting

One of the 12 victims of last night’s mass shooting in Thousand Oaks, California has been identified as the niece of “Sister, Sister” star Tamera Mowry-Housley. The actress and her husband released a statement announcing that Alaina Housley, an 18-year-old freshman at nearby Pepperdine University, died during the attack at Borderline Bar and Grill, where a gunman identified by authorities as a former Marine named Ian David Long opened fire. He is believed to have killed himself after killing 12 people and injuring dozens more.

“Our hearts are broken. We just learned that our niece Alaina was one of the victims of last night’s shooting at Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks. Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner. We thank everyone for your prayers and ask for privacy at this time,” Mowry-Housley and Adam Housley said in their statement.
