Sister Of Jeffrey Dahmer Victim Says New Series Left Her Feeling Like She Was Reliving Her Worst Nightmare

The new Netflix series Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is the latest example in the genre of true-crime entertainment. And while the dramatization of the notorious serial killer has been extremely popular with the public, family members of Dahmer’s victims, along with some of his survivors, say the series has romanticized Jeffrey Dahmer and re-traumatized them. Rita, whose younger brother, Erroll Lindsey, was one of Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims, says watching portions of the Netflix series left her feeling like she was reliving her worst nightmare. She claims that the producers of the Netflix show never contacted her or anyone in her family for their input. In a statement to “The Hollywood Reporter,” series creator Ryan Murphy claims researchers for Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story reached out to around 20 friends and family members of Dahmer’s victims. Dahmer’s former army roommate, Billy, who claims he was drugged, raped, and brutalized by Dahmer when they served together in Germany says he was so traumatized when he saw an episode of the Netflix series - he threw up.
