SiR Channels D’Angelo In “No Evil” Music Video

SiR is back with a new song and video he describes as “for the misunderstood.”

On Friday (Jan. 26), the 37-year-old musician released his latest track “No Evil” with a visual inspired by D’Angelo’s classic “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” music video. Directed by Loris Russier, the Grammy-nominated artist strips down for the introspective track.

The music video focuses on SiR flexing a newly transformed physique. The West Coast representative is joined by a duo of dancers in all white, and another with golden arrows piercing her back.

“What’s your superpower/Show me what you’re made of/I’ve been lonely for days/But we’re one in the same,” sings SiR on the Taylor Hill-produced track.

“No Evil” is SiR’s first solo release since 2022 when the R&B singer dropped “Nothing Even Matters” and “Satisfaction.” In 2023, he collaborated with his brother D Smoke on “Work Hard Play Hard,” and ARDN on “SHINE.” Sir has also contributed to songs with Ab-Soul, in the past year.

SiR’s last album Chasing Summer was released in 2019. A fan favorite of his catalog, the 14-track project features Kendrick Lamar, Smino, Lil Wayne, Kadhja Bonet, Sabrina Claudio, Jill Scott, and Zacari.

“I always come from a very transparent, vulnerable place,” explained the Inglewood, Calif. native to Okayplayer of the album. “I definitely was just trying to be as honest as possible. I was writing songs that I needed to write. It was my therapy almost because I had nothing else to do. All I had was music and my home life.”
