WEST PALM BEACH — Palm Beach Dramaworks has announced that single tickets for its upcoming season will go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday.

Two world premieres and a season-wide focus on some of the country’s most contentious problems are on tap for the downtown West Palm Beach theater.

The five shows scheduled for its 24th season are:

  • "Lobby Hero," a play by Kenneth Lonergan, will be performed Oct. 13-29. The play by the "Manchester by the Sea" writer revolves around four New Yorkers involved in a murder investigation. ''The play explores issues of racism and sexism, and whether it’s ever honorable to do the wrong thing for the right reason.''

  • The world premiere of "The Messenger," by Dramaworks playwright-in-residence Jenny Connell Davis, will take place Dec. 8-24. ''Inspired by the life of Hungarian Holocaust survivor Georgia Gabor, the play interweaves her story with that of a young American woman facing racial discrimination in this country in 2020,'' according to a press release.

  • Another world premiere is scheduled for Feb. 2-18. Christopher Demos-Brown's "The Cancellation of Lauren Fein" centers around a professor whose "actions run afoul of the university’s 'diversity, equity, and inclusion' policies," resulting in her research, career and family being put in jeopardy.

  • "Death of a Salesman," by Arthur Miller, the classic story of tragic hero Willy Loman, will be performed March 29-April 14.

  • The season ends May 24-June 9 with Joanna McClelland Glass' "Trying." The story centers on Sarah Schorr, a 25-year-old from rural Canada who goes to work as secretary for 81-year-old Francis Biddle, the patrician former U.S. attorney general. "The piece is a tender yet unsentimental portrait of two disparate people navigating their vast differences to form a bond of mutual admiration, consideration, and respect."Tickets for all shows are $89, except for opening night of each production ($104) and previews ($69). Contact the box office at 561-514-4042, or visit tickets.palmbeachdramaworks.org. The theater is at 201 Clematis St., West Palm Beach.
