Single Mom To Dr. Phil: ‘My Life Is A Tornado And I Can’t Get A Hold of It’

Jenny’s 15-year-old daughter, Maddie, and 18-Year-old son, Ryan, claim their mother refuses to cook or clean, leaving those duties – along with looking after their younger siblings – up to them.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Is your family a stressed mess?

“It’s not our job to be the parents,” says Ryan.

“Our house is so messy and so is my mom’s bedroom. It’s disgusting,” says Maddie who claims that because her bedroom is cleaner than the rest of the house, Jenny sleeps in there whenever she isn’t home.

“How did I let my life get this bad?” asks Jenny, adding, “How can somebody live in this nasty environment? How am I supposed to expect my kids to clean-up after themselves, when their own mother is disgusting?”

Jenny, who says she never wanted to be a mother, claims she’s been battling emotional pain since she was a teenager, and says it’s easier for her to live in “that nightmare,” than to clean it. She says “My life is a tornado and I can’t get a hold of it.”

Does Dr. Phil have a plan to help Jenny and her children salvage their family?
