Sam DeRosa has found her forever!

The singer said 'I do' to fiancé Shane Carlyle on Sept. 23, at The Villa at Ridder Country Club in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

“We knew we wanted an outdoor wedding," DeRosa told PEOPLE ahead of the couple's ceremony, adding that they wanted a venue somewhere between Carlyle’s parents in Scituate, Massachusetts, and Boston, so that they “could make a whole destination weekend out of it.”

DeRosa adds, “When we searched for venues that checked all of our boxes, The Villa in East Bridgewater came up. We did a FaceTime tour because of the distance and immediately booked the venue.”

Decor for the pair's nuptials incorporated a “garden romance,” theme, which featured white florals with baby’s breath and sage green accents from Bed of Roses Scarsdale, plus all gold decor and floating candles "everywhere possible.”

For her walk down the aisle, DeRosa wore the 1406 dress by Martina Liana. "The details, semi-long train and buttons down the back are what drew me to the dress," she says. "I’ve always wanted to look like myself on my wedding day, just a little elevated and glammed! I went with a cathedral length veil for a dramatic effect, since the dress was a fit and flare style." Her look was completed with makeup by Natalie Kaplan and hair by Bridal by Alex (Alex Tartaglione).

DeRosa's younger brother Joe officiated the nuptials. "I think handwritten vows really elevate a wedding ceremony," says DeRosa. "Plus, I’m a full time singer songwriter and my fiancé is certainly not, so I didn't think he would be interested, but he was excited to write his own vows. I’m ready to be surprised and will absolutely cry!"

A live string quartet performed during the couple's wedding, which was attended by singer/songwriter Wrabel along with country artist Kylie Morgan. Carlyle entered to Blink-182’s “First Date” while DeRosa walked out to “You’re Still The One” by Shania Twain. The couple's first dance was to their "absolute fave" Bryan Adams track “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You."

During the cocktail hour, guests dined on charcuterie and passed hors d’oeuvres, before a two-course plated dinner. "Sam is Italian so we were not allowed to be low key about the food!" says Carlyle.

For dessert, the couple tapped Flour Moon Bakery, a gluten-free confectionist, to create a 3 tier, gluten-free, funfetti wedding cake, plus a "massive dessert station" with cake pops, brownies, cookies and gluten free cannolis for the bride. As a late-night snack grilled cheese and fries with cheeseburger sliders were served to keep the party going.

As a final goodbye on Sunday, the newlyweds hosted a massive backyard brunch with an ice cream truck, a brick oven pizza truck, lawn games and football. "We’ve told our guests: dress to impress Friday, be your fanciest Saturday, and roll in as casual as you’d like on Sunday!"

DeRosa and Carlyle first met in Boston when she sang at a bar where he was bartending. The two immediately connected and he moved to Los Angeles with DeRosa where she pursued her singing career "because he believed in me."

Carlyle popped the question on on Dec. 20, 2021 in New York City on the Monarch Rooftop, under the Empire State Building. "Shane brought me up for a drink at this cool bar to meet my little brother, and he was in on it too," she recalls.

"Once we got to the rooftop, there were candles and rose petals and lights everywhere and he asked me to marry him. The real surprise was that, once I said 'yes,' both of our families jumped out and surprised us. It was a surprise, private engagement party with just our families. We both live in LA now, so having both of our families in one place was magical."

For their honeymoon, DeRosa and Carlyle will spend 10 days in Greece exploring Athens and the surrounding islands. Upon returning, DeRosa says she plans to star gearing up for her upcoming tour, which begins in November.

The couple notes that their excitement to get married could only be described as “electric,” adding that it’s “like a fun adventure into uncharted territory with your favorite person.”

“We’ve put a lot of time into learning and growing as individuals,” DeRosa says, “while also putting that same amount of time into ‘us’ and honestly, we always talk about how lucky we feel to have grown up together and to now get to grow old together.”
