Where did singer Jason Isbell dine while he was in Des Moines?

Isbell, the singer-songwriter who fronts the 400 Unit and previously Drive-By Truckers, played the renovated Val Air Ballroom in West Des Moines Wednesday night.

Owner Sam Summers said Isbell was one of the final acts to play the room before it closed for a $14.9 million renovation in late 2022 and reopened at the end of February.

Isbell dropped by Clyde's Fine Diner, the East Village restaurant from James Beard Foundation semifinalist for Best Chef Midwest Chris Hoffmann, for lunch on Wednesday "to fuel up for his show @valairdsm tonight. Was a pleasure hosting such a nice group of folks. We are going to be sprinting over to the show after service tonight right after we wash our cast iron skillets," the restaurant posted on Instagram.

The restaurant specializes in reinvented diner classics.
