Simu Liu uses his mouth to resuscitate a maggot on ‘Running Wild with Bear Grylls’

Simu Liu went Running Wild with Bear Grylls, Monday, and the star of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings learned how to resuscitate a frozen maggot using the heat and moisture from his mouth.

“It's like really cold for a while, and you think it's just like a little piece of ice, and then it just starts squirming around,” Liu explained, “Yeah, that's not a comfortable thing to be feeling in your mouth area.”

While Liu wasn’t thrilled about having a maggot in his mouth, it was all worth it because they used it as bait to catch dinner.

“So we just caught a fish,” Liu explained. “Bear wrestled it out of the water and then just bludgeoned it to death right in front of me.” He shook the remaining frozen maggots in his, adding, “And I don't have to eat these anymore!”

Unfortunately Simu’s joy was short-lived because Grylls decided it would be a waste to not include the maggots in the fish stew. But much like the underwear filtered water that Natalie Portman drank earlier in the season, Grylls’ disgusting idea wasn’t so bad.

“It's pretty good,” Liu admitted, after taking a bite.
