Simu Liu stuns everyone with come-from-behind ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’ win: ‘A lot of wow here!’

Andy Richter frustrated Simu Liu and Ego Nwodim on Celebrity Jeopardy!, Sunday, as Conan O’Brien’s right-hand man picked up right where he left off in 2009.

“It was in 2009 and I won,” Richter explained. “But I couldn't come back for the semifinals because Conan and I had lost The Tonight Show, and he was prohibited from being on television, so we went on tour in order to keep the band paid.”

While Andy led much of the game, Simu’s all-in wager on Final Jeopardy! paid off huge as he came from behind to claim the big win.

“I don't think anybody was expecting that,” said Simu. “Oh, my God.”

Viewers were just as shocked as Simu, as one person tweeted, “That episode of Celebrity Jeopardy! shows just how important Final Jeopardy! is because Andy was in the lead the whole time but got the final question wrong and Simu had enough to cover when he bet all.”

Richter echoed viewers’ sentiments, telling Simu, “That's Jeopardy! The final question, if you don't know the final question, you can just go home.”

It was a marvelous win for the star of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, even if he almost immediately regretted his success.

“Oh, my God, I have to come back?!” Simu asked.

“This is why we say never throw in the towel, Simu,” host Mayim Bialik said. “You did it.”
