'The Simpsons' goes 'Game of Thrones' in 29th season premiere

The Simpsons went medieval for its 29th season premiere Sunday night. For those of you who are going through Game of Thrones withdrawal, The Simpsons had the cure. The whole episode took place in a magical land, much like Westeros, and it followed a peasant family, "The Serfsons." The episode was sprinkled with Game of Thrones references, like Flanders's head on a spike, a three-eyed raven, and a White Walker. Although they weren’t called "White Walkers." The story involved Marge's mother getting "Progressive Frozen-Mortification" which can only come from the "bite of an Ice Walker." And, of course, you can't spoof GoT without a dragon burning everything to the ground. While there were references to other magical fantasy worlds like Lord the the Rings, Game of Thrones was the clear focus. There was even a cameo from the kingslayer himself as Nikolaj Coster-Waldau was the voice of Marge's twin brother, and he was still down with incest. Jon Snow and Daenerys are the only family members who can hook up without it being creepy! What this episode proved was that Winter may already be here, but the final season of Game of Thrones cannot get here fast enough.
