Simone Biles Makes Gymnastics History After Landing Insane Double-Double Dismount
Olympic gymnast Simone Biles made gymnastics history.
22-year-old Biles was the first to ever attempt and land a double twisting, double somersault dismount off the balance beam and it was incredible.
She landed the difficult dismount Friday at the 2019 U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Kansas City, Missouri.

According to TeamUSA.org, the move will be named after Biles once she competes with the dismount at an international meet, which will make it the third skill named after the star.
“I’m really happy with the beam dismount and how it’s come along, because if you had asked me if I was going to compete it, I would’ve said no,” Biles said, according to Team USA.
She added, “I feel like in those short two weeks we did a lot of work on a couple of the events, so I’m pretty excited with how it turned out.”
Earlier at the event, Biles was also the first woman to try completing a triple-double with two flips and three twists in the air. However, upon landing, she fell forward in the attempt.
She told USA Today Sports, "I'm still really upset about floor. I did end on a good note, so that makes me happy," and admitted, "I'm still disappointed about floor."
"I still get really frustrated because I know how good I am and how well I can do," Biles added, explaining that "so I just want to do the best routine for the audience and for myself out here."
Simone is a four-time Olympic gold medalist and 14-time world champion, she finished the first night of the two-night meet with a score of 58.650.
