Silver Screen Movie Club hosts 'The Fall Guy' screening

May 8—The Silver Screen Movie Club is holding a screening of "The Fall Guy" when doors open at 9 a.m. on Thursday May 9, at the at the Cinemark Theater, located at 218 Wood St. in Athens.

Synopsis: The Fall Guy is a 2024 American action comedy film directed by David Leitch and written by Drew Pearce, loosely based on the 1980s TV series about stunt performers. It follows a stuntman (Ryan Gosling) working on his ex-girlfriend's (Emily Blunt) directorial debut action film, only to find himself involved in a conspiracy surrounding the film's lead actor (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). The film also features Hannah Waddingham, Teresa Palmer, Stephanie Hsu, and Winston Duke.

Doors open at 9 a.m., giveaways at 9:15 a.m., and the movie starts at 9:30 a.m. The club meets the second Thursday of every month, and is exclusively for those 55 years of age plus. Admission is free with a non-perishable food item donation to the local food pantry. All you have to do to join the fun is to show up.
