In February 2024, Netflix India revealed that one of its 2024 releases will be Sikandar Ka Muqaddar. The title seems to be a play on the title of Prakash Mehra’s 1978 crime-drama film Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Rekha, Raakhee, Ranjeet, and Amjad Khan. However, it is unknown what connection, if any, the two movies have.
According to reports, the plot will cover 18 years and, the production will take place in several locations in India and beyond. Considering that filming hasn’t begun yet, we can speculate that Sikandar Ka Muqaddar will probably premiere sometime in late 2024.
Netflix unveiled the first look of the film featuring shadows of two men mirroring the bustling life and the hustle of Mumbai with traffic passing without a pause. They took to social media to post a reel with the caption: The post was with the caption that stated: “Dil thaam ke baithiye, kahi chori na ho jaaye Sikandar ka Muqaddar is coming soon, only on Netflix! #SikandarKaMuqaddar #SikandarKaMuqaddarOnNetflix #NextOnNetflixIndia’.” Maintaining an air of intrigue, the creators have withheld all other details for the moment.
