Sigur Rós Shares 24-Hour 360° “Óveður” Video Around Iceland’s Route One
Last month, Sigur Rós embarked on a journey around Iceland on Route One, a road that loops all around the country, and livestreamed their experience. The multi-part videos are supposed to play out as “slow TV “something that is “counteractive to the world we live in, in that it happens in real time and real slow” done in response to the instant gratification of our society.
Now, the entirety of their 24-hour “slow TV” event has been made available on YouTube 360, which allows viewers to create their own experience around Iceland as Sigur Rós drives to the country’s most famous landmarks.
Sigur Rós fans can also win limited-edition signed Google Cardboard headsets that can enhance their 360 video experience. Enter to win a headset via Sigur Rós’ website.
The Icelandic collective put on their first performance since 2013 at this year’s Primavera Music Festival in Barcelona and announced a North American tour that kicks off this September in Vancouver, B.C.
