'Siesta Key's' Madisson Speaks Out About Relationship With Former Producer
We've finally started the recent season of MTV's Laguna Beach rip-off Siesta Key, and things have already kicked off to a dramatic start.
There's been fights, hair pulling, accusations of being a "skank," and anger over a boyfriend failing to notice his girlfriend's recent nose job (seriously.) But, for some reason, we keep going back for more. Just like a car crash, you just can't take your eyes off this show, with a cast as shallow as a wading pool.
Maddison Revealed Her Relationship With Her Former Producer
In the first episodes of the season, Maddison Hausburg revealed she was dating the former producer of Siesta Key, Ismael Soto, who they know as "Ish." Shockingly, her new boyfriend is 46, while Maddison is only 25.
Things did not go well when Maddison introduced the new man in her life to another man in her life: her father. The trio sat down for lunch, and things got rocky immediately.
Maddison's dad said, “I’m 66, so you’re closer to me than you are to her. I’m in a bit of a state of shock. Honestly, it’s not what I would want for her. At this point, I’m not convinced that this is in my daughter’s best interest. You don’t have my approval. I think it’s a mistake. Too old.”
Yikes, clearly her dad is not the type to mince words, preferring to be direct.
Her Dad Was Not Pleased With The Age Difference
Maddison recently spoke to Us Weekly about the drama, saying, “He is coming around, but slowly. We still have to have those conversations from time to time. You know, I realize now it’s not just going to happen overnight, it will be something that he will have to come to terms with on his own time."
She continued, "The more he sees me with Ish, hopefully, the more he realizes that we are going to be together. He needs to come around and hopefully, he will want to come around.”
Well, you can't really blame her dad for having misgivings about such an older man in his daughter's life, and he is clearly just being protective.
Maddison Doesn't See The Age Gap As A Problem
The couple do have a huge age gap, something that has come up frequently over the last couple episodes of the show. Maddison, however, doesn't see it as a problem, and claims the majority of people around her have been supportive.
She said, “I don’t notice it anymore, but I obviously knew that it was going to be a big shock to everyone and I knew that that would be our biggest hurdle."
Despite the drama surrounding their relationship, the couple has now been together for over a year, and appear to still be going strong.
Her Ex-Boyfriend Brandon Gomes Has Not Been Supportive
One person who has not been supportive of the relationship (and that is putting it lightly) is Maddison's ex-boyfriend Brandon Gomes. Though, does anyone really care? The guy cheated on her, so he clearly didn't value their relationship as much as he is acting like he did.
Of Brandon, Maddison said, “I did love him, but Brandon was fun and we always kept it light. We never really had like conversations about the future about where we want to live or do we want a family. These are all conversations that I had have had with Ish."
She continued, speaking about the maturity level in her new relationship, saying, "It may be because of the age difference, but it just seems like we are getting a lot more serious a lot quicker. It seems like a much more mature relationship. We do have deeper conversations. I would just say the most obvious difference to me is just the depth of the relationship.”
Hopefully, we'll see how all this plays out on the new season of Siesta Key, currently playing new episodes.
