Billed as a film noir set in the Latinx and LGBTQ+ world of Los Angeles, The Low End Theory centers on Raquel (Yepes), an aspiring beats producer in the low-budget hip-hop world moonlighting as a drug money launderer, who ends up stealing from her crime-lord boss to pay off debts owed by the woman with whom she is having an obsessive affair. Flanigan plays Raquel’s troubled lover, Veronica.

The film is an Atomic Features production, produced in association with Shakti Sol Productions, the recently launched shingle of Rosado and Krishna Tewari. Yepes also produced alongside Daniel Ragussis of Atomic Features.

Said Flanigan, “Working with actors like Sofia and Ricky and this whole team was a transformative experience that I feel really helped me grow as an actor. There was an exciting collaborative energy that made every day worth showing up for.”

Stated Yepes, “Casting Sidney was so exciting. Getting the opportunity to work side-by-side with that level of authenticity really pushed me to raise the caliber of my performance, and I feel it inspired all of us to bring our very best.”

Flanigan broke out with her starring turn as Autumn in Focus Features’ drama Never Rarely Sometimes Always from writer-director Eliza Hittman, which brought her nominations from the Gotham Awards, Independent Spirit Awards and Critics Choice Awards. More recent projects for the up-and-comer include Alex Thompson’s Tribeca-premiering genre-bender Rounding and the horror thriller Only the Good Survive. She is represented by Gersh and Ethos Entertainment.

Anzoategui is repped by The Park Agency; Quinones by Peter Kallinteris Agency; Villareal by Momentum Talent and Nelson Management; and McDonald by Crimson Media.
