Sia has now entered YouTube’s billion views club twice with the same song — how’s that for a cheap thrill? Six years after hitting the milestone with her music video for “Cheap Thrills,” the often-masked singer has done it again with the dance-focused “performance edit” video for her 2015 hit.

Posted in 2016, “Cheap Thrills (Performance Edit)” finds a trio of dancers led by the vocalist’s frequent music video muse Maddie Ziegler performing complex contemporary choreography in front of a purple backdrop. In the corner, Sia sings into a microphone while sporting her signature look, her face mostly obscured by an oversized wig.

“Baby, I don’t need dollar bills to have fun tonight,” she belts. “I don’t need no money as long as I can feel the beat/ I don’t need no money as long as I keep dancing.”

The video is now in league with the original “Cheap Thrills” visual, which surpassed a billion views in 2018. A single off of Sia’s album This Is Acting, the track spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2016.

Past Sia music videos to reach billion-views status include “Elastic Heart” and “Chandelier” — both of which star Ziegler, who was joined by Shia Labeouf in the latter — as well as “Titanium” with David Guetta and “Dusk Till Dawn” with Zayn.

The “Cheap Thrills” views-news comes just a few days after the singer released her new album Reasonable Woman, which dropped May 3 and features collaborations with Chaka Khan, Kylie Minogue, Labrinth and Paris Hilton. The 15-track set marks Sia’s first proper pop album since This Is Acting.
