Many people have been repulsed by the CNN footage of Diddy assaulting Cassie, including those who have worked with him in the past. Shyne recently stated that he wants “nothing to do” with the mogul.

“I vehemently denounce the repugnant behavior of Sean Diddy Combs captured on the video in which he is seen physically assaulting Mrs. Cassie Ventura-Fine,” the 45-year-old politician wrote in an Instagram post. “There is no place for Violence against Women anywhere on the planet. As a father of a precious daughter, a global citizen, and the next Prime Minister of Belize I want absolutely nothing to do with people who engage in this pattern of diabolical behavior.”

The former Bad Boy artist closed his statement by offering prayers to the “Me & U” singer and those who have endured harm at the hands of Puff.

This is the second time within two months that Shyne has distanced himself from Diddy. In April, the woman who he allegedly shot in a nightclub in 1999 revealed that it was the Bad Boy founder who pulled the trigger.

“It opens wounds when you hear the victim saying it was Diddy that shot her. That is what is most remarkable,” he said during a press conference in Belize. “I’ve been saying this all along. Everyone knew all along that I was the fall guy, but my political enemies and detractors tried to make me into this criminal, but everyone knew that I was a young kid that took the fall.

He continued his statement, saying, “I’m just saying that I maintained my innocence all this time. I said that I was defending myself. I didn’t get into who did what. But the victim is telling you who did what.” The “Bonnie & Shyne” rapper served 10 years in prison for the crime and was deported to Belize upon release; the “I Need A Girl” artist, however, was acquitted of all charges.

The aforementioned CNN footage showed Diddy grabbing Cassie by the back of her neck and throwing her to the ground in a now-closed Los Angeles hotel back in 2016. He kicked his then-girlfriend twice and tried to drag her back to their room, and could be seen throwing objects at her later in the video.

The former Making The Band star shared an apology video this past weekend. “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life,” he said. “Sometimes you gotta do that. I was f**ked up. I mean, I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now.”

His apology was immediately met with questions as to why he did not specifically address Cassie. TMZ revealed that when they settled her lawsuit in November 2023, there was a strict NDA put in place that forbade both of them from saying each other’s names publicly. Diddy’s legal team even had to review his video to ensure he upheld those terms, though he reportedly wanted to address his former partner despite the agreement.
