Meaning, how do they shrink Paul Rudd?
At the end of our recent interview with Ant-Man and its new sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, director Peyton Reed, we asked the shot-caller straight up.
“It’s less me and more Rudd,” Reed said (watch above). “Rudd is a method actor, and he has his people, his entourage … I don’t know what they do. If it’s a sort of a chemical thing, or if it’s meditation, or what it is, but he’s able to achieve some alternate states of size.”
It creates logistical challenges on the set.
“We have to sign waivers because once he’s that small. … We have to clear the set so that no one steps on him. And he’s got his own special diet and stuff. There’s a lot of insurance stuff to deal with.”
Ant-Man and the Wasp is now in theaters.
