PEOPLE got a taste of vacation in Shondaland.

In Shondaland, the ladies play as hard as they work!

Scandal star Katie Lowes gave PEOPLE an exclusive a look inside her recent getaway to the Casa de Campo Resort & Villas in La Romana, Dominican Republic. She attended the trip with a few of her famous friends and former costars including Bellamy Young (who starred as Mellie Grant on Scandal ), Marika Domińczyk (who has guested on Inventing Anna and Grey's Anatomy, and is married to Scandal's Scott Foley) and of course, Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes.

The stars were joined by friends who work behind the scenes on the various series, including casting director Linda Lowy, costume designer Lyn Paolo, and director of branding Sandie Bailey.

Here's a look at what goes down on a Shondaland girls' trip, courtesy of Lowes, who shared her personal snaps and insights from the getaway.

"We’ve arrived! Look at our VILLA! Pinch me," Lowes shared of the group's accommodations.

Casa De Campo offers four different kinds of villas, from the Classic Villa with a private pool and maid and butler service to the Exclusive Villas, which offer high-profile guests an extra layer of privacy.

Riding in style

A golf cart was the transportation of choice.

"Touring around the massive resort on our golf carts. Casa de Campo has beaches and pools and a spa and tennis courts and golf and restaurants and a stunning marina and shopping!!! Let the fun begin," said Lowes

Golf carts are available for all the guests to get around, and they're much needed! In addition to the shopping at the marina near the resort, there are three private beaches.

Time to eat!

"Off to a private tennis lesson! I am terrible! But - I laughed the ENTIRE time and had a blast. Our instructor was great!" Lowes said.

Casa de Campo is nicknamed the "Wimbledon of the Caribbean," for it's expansive tennis center — the largest in the Caribbean.

"These two get up at the crack of dawn to play golf every morning! Casa del Campo has some of the best golfing in the world and they take full advantage. While I take full advantage of SLEEPING IN," Lowes recalled of Rhimes and Dominczyk.

The course was designed by legendary golfer Pete Dye.

"Touring around the STUNNING Altos de Chavón. Yes, I ran down to the stage of the famous amphitheater and recited my college Shakespeare monologue :)," Lowes wrote.

The ladies didn't have to leave the resort to visit a replica 16th-century Mediterranean village in the heart of the Dominican countryside. Altos de Chavón is also home to the Altos de Chavón School of Design, which is affiliated with the Parsons School of Design in New York.
