‘Shogun’ Streaming Resilience Showcases a Rare Portrait of Stability | Charts

Relax, you’re not seeing double. The top three most-watched streaming programs on the Samba TV Weekly Wrap Report for the week of April 15 to 21 are the exact same programs from last week, showcasing some bonafide hits with staying power.

Starting things off is “Fallout,” the Amazon adaptation of the popular video game franchise. The buzzy series — which has already received the green light for Season 2 — managed to hold onto the top spot in its second week on the charts.

When we talk about stability in streaming, nothing holds a candle to “Shōgun,” in second place this week. The FX/Hulu miniseries has remained on the charts for nine consecutive weeks, never falling lower than third. Can it retake the top spot next week for its tenth and final episode?

Netflix owns the remaining eight spots on the list this week, starting with “What Jennifer Did.” The true-crime documentary is No. 3 again this week.

The fourth and fifth programs are holdovers that moved up the charts from last week, too. Fourth is “Unlocked: A Jail Experiment,” a reality series that debuted at No. 7 last week. Fifth is “The Bricklayer,” a theatrical release from earlier this year that was added to Netflix’s library this month. It’s down one spot, from No. 4 to No. 5.

“Baby Reindeer,” a new stalker drama series, lands at No. 6. “Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver” is No. 7. The conclusion of the two-part sci-fi epic was seen in 967,000 households over its opening weekend, down 15% compared to Part One, which debuted in December.

Audiences celebrated spring with “Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp,” a live-action and animation film starring the 84-year-old beaked cartoon character, which landed at No. 8.

“Glass,” the 2019 M. Night Shyamalan film, is No. 9, and is the latest example of an older film hitting the chart once it’s added to the Netflix library. Rounding out the list is season one of “Killing Eve,” the 2018 BBC America series that also recently landed on Netflix.

If you want to make a splash in linear, it helps to have a good voice. Once again, singers topped the list of the most-watched programs, ranging from “American Idol” (two spots: No. 1 and No. 3), “The Voice” (No. 2), and a re-airing of “The 100th: Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden” (No. 4).

After that, we had two scripted entries, both from CBS. “FBI” is No. 5 this week, followed by “The Equalizer” at No. 6. “Wheel of Fortune” snags three consecutive spots this week, running from No. 7 to No. 9. And bringing the list to a close is “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”
