‘Grey’s’: Shocking Twist After April and Jackson’s Divorce
Grey’s Anatomy left fans in a pool of their own tears when April and Jackson finally signed their dreaded divorce papers. The episode opened in a conference room with lawyers and a teary-eyed April sitting across the table staring at her soon-to-be ex-husband. April asks Jackson, “Do you want to do this? Do you really want to do this?” — and all the scorned husband could do was sit in silence.
The rest of the hour was filled with flashbacks of the couple’s relationship, tracking back to the day the young doctors met. The flashbacks remind us of the happy moments, like when they found out April was pregnant and when the passionate duo eloped. But a few touched on some of the harder times, like when they lost the baby.
By the end of the episode, April is seated in her living room when her roommate, Arizona, enters with a bag full of alcohol for the two to drown their sorrows, and April declines. “You just signed divorce papers and you don’t want to drink,” marvels Arizona. “What, are you pregnant?” April’s response: “According to the test I took this morning, yeah, actually.”
