President Trump likes his phone time, and is famously resistant to standard-issue White House attempts to screen his calls or stop him from catching up with gab pals like Sean Hannity. Trump administration phone security is apparently so lax that a radio trickster was able to have a friendly chat with the Commander-in-Chief.

Howard Stern Show alum "Stuttering John" Melendez posed as New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez and phoned the White House for a podcast bit. After finding the number for the White House switchboard via a Google search, Melendez was able to convince Trump aides that he was in fact the senior United States Senator from New Jersey, and received a return call from the president himself. It’s not just that a shock jock was able to call the president, which would be ridiculous enough. Nope, a shock jock actually got the president to call him.

The aide that gave Melendez's call the final green-light was none other than Trump's son-in-law, humanoid national security threat Jared Kushner.

Over the course of their four-minute conversation, Trump and Melendez-as-Menedez discussed the President's immigration plans as well as the Supreme Court seat recently vacated by Justice Anthony Kennedy. "I want to be able to take care of this situation every bit as anybody else," Trump said of the border crisis. He also told Melendez to expect the announcement of a Supreme Court nominee within the next 12 to 14 days.

Melendez told CNN that he was shocked his call made it through to Trump. "All they had to ask me is what party affiliation is Sen. Menendez, or what state is he a senator of," said Melendez, "and I would not have known. But they didn't ask me any of this."
